To sec 2 juniors of percussion section: I really hope you all understand you all have not much time left and its around 6 weeks before we set off to Tasmania for our competition. As you all know, there's only a 1st prize, best for hymn, set, choice and march. There's not even a 2nd or 3rd prize or any certificate of participation. You all don't realise how important this competition is, do you.And you all shouldn't be aiming for just 1st prize. You all should aim further than that. Come down for individuals and stop coming up with the lamest excuses you could ever find. The glory belongs to you all, not us. You all are going to be leading the juniors in the SYF year next year. This international competition is going to be the star event of this year. Yet I don't see anyone of you coming down for practices.Percussion section is seriously falling apart. You juniors haven't seen how we were being treated like in the past when we were your age. We've been so nice to you guys and all you all did was take us for granted. Yes, we do joke and play around with you all. But when we were serious, were you guys feeling the same as us? We've never incorporated 'corporal punishment' to you guys. How many times since you're sec one, did us, the percussion section seniors even pump you all?Well it doesn't really mean we're that satisfied with you all. We were unhappy, but do you guys know? Even during section talk, when all of us, the percussion seniors, broke down, you guys still laughed out loud as if we were all acting? What kind of attitude is this, seriously.Even Mr Ramu is giving up on our section. We seniors really have nothing to say. We really don't know how to teach you all anymore. Until now, some of you can't even play your quavers, circle of fifths well. At this time, you all should have already mastered the minor scales even. And those who are better at mallets, your drumming ain't all that good either. Our batch wasn't lucky like you guys that you all got theory lessons for free. We didn't even have that. What MTDC whatsoever, we had nothing. You guys should be learning faster than our speed. But instead, you all are not even up to the standard that you guys should be. And all of your attitude, totally sucks like hell. Us keeping quiet doesn't mean we don't mind such attitude and you all can continue with it okay. You all have to change for the better. The sec 4s are having their Olevels and Nlevels this year. The sec 3s, they have to juggle between the sec2-3 band, as well as the sec3-5 band. Also the MTDC concert coming right up in June, and the junior band. Its all very tough you know. You all don't understand. Many a times, we all felt like giving up on you juniors. But could we? If we gave up, who would be there to help you all up? The conductor? Leaders? SLs? Fat hope. They've got all their responsibilities too. You all don't even know how hard it is being an SL, or even a trainer. If you all don't improve, who's the one who get scolded? Its our dear percussion SL, xingjun. Would you all know that she's scolded? Would you all know all the stress she's going through? Zilch. She's suffering in silence, yet trying all means to improve this section. But without all your hard work and effort put in, will she succeed? This requires everyone's effort. Like our band slogan, 'One band, one sound.' We all have to all work together and coorporate to make our section improve. This is teamwork. I hope you all would aim for the best section award in the upcoming POP. It's always been my dream to march up to the conductor to collect the 'best section award'. I hope you guys feel the same.I shall end this on a good note, and I hope all of you reflect. We shall work together towards a common goal, 'best section award'. That's all we ever ask for. And to achieve that, we have to be a very good section; one that doesn't screw up anything in the pieces.-Brenda.
